Representative Experience
Nationstar Mortgage, LLC v. Pedro Abigantus, et al., Case No. CACE 09-038724, the Seventeenth Judicial Court of Florida (Broward County). As lead counsel, Phillip represented the defendant/homeowner in a residential foreclosure matter successfully moved for involuntary dismissal of the action. The case was dismissed at trial, leading to a large award of attorney’s fees and costs for the defendant/homeowner.
State of Florida v. Victor Morales, Case No. 50-2011-CF-003236-AXXX-MB, in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County). Phillip, as second chair, represented the client charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, and resisting arrest with violence (was accused of dragging a Palm Beach Deputy 300 feet with his motorcycle, and incident was captured on a dash board camera). Obtained an acquittal of all Felony charges at trial. (Client had been facing 40 years in prison with a minimum mandatory of 5 years.)
